Privacy Policy
MoveDrt is a marketplace that connects contractors who have excess bulk earth and construction materials (fill dirt, topsoil, gravel, sand, rock) with people who need those materials and with dump-truck operators who haul them.
This Privacy Policy explains what information MoveDrt ("MoveDrt," "we," "us," or "our") collects through the MoveDrt mobile app and this website, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using MoveDrt you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account | Email address and a password you set. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your raw password. |
| Profile | First name, last name, display name, and an optional phone number. |
| Listings (user content) | The content you post: a title, the material type and quantity, whether you have or need the material, a pickup/drop address and its map coordinates, and optional comments and material-provenance notes. |
| Messages | Conversation messages you send to other users through the in-app messaging feature. |
| Photos for Snap-to-Post | Optional material photos you choose from your library or camera. Photos are sent to our backend for one-time AI material detection and are not stored by that detection endpoint. |
| Safety & moderation | Reports you file about other users or content (including the reason), and the list of users you block. |
| Support | The contents of any message you send us through the support form. |
Information collected automatically
When you use MoveDrt, our infrastructure providers automatically receive standard technical data such as your IP address, device and operating-system type, app version, and basic usage and diagnostic logs. We use this to operate, secure, and debug the service.
Location
The app may ask for When-In-Use location permission to center the map and show nearby listings. This permission is optional. If you decline, the app remains usable with the Nashville-centered map and manually entered pickup or drop-off addresses. We do not track your location in the background.
We do not knowingly collect payment-card numbers, government IDs, health data, or other sensitive categories of personal information. MoveDrt does not currently process any payments.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and profile.
- To operate the marketplace by publishing your listings to other users and showing you relevant nearby listings.
- To enable in-app conversations between users who choose to message about a listing.
- To provide optional Snap-to-Post material detection when you choose to submit a photo for AI analysis.
- To enable the safety tools (text filtering, reporting, and blocking) and to review and act on reports.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To secure the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
3. How information is shared
With other users (the marketplace is public)
MoveDrt is a marketplace, so some information is shared with other users by design. When you post a listing, its content, including the title, material details, the address and map location you enter, and your display name, is visible to other MoveDrt users so they can find and respond to it. Do not include anything in a listing that you do not want to be public. If you choose to connect with another party, you may exchange contact details directly.
With service providers
We share data with vendors that operate the service on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase & Google Cloud Platform | Account authentication, database, serverless backend, and hosting. |
| Google Vertex AI | One-time material detection for optional Snap-to-Post photos. The detection endpoint does not store the photo. |
| Apple MapKit | First-party Apple map display and location features in the iOS app. |
These providers process data under their own terms and are permitted to use it only to provide services to us.
For legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or MoveDrt.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Data retention & account deletion
You can delete your account at any time, directly in the app, under Profile > Delete account. No email or support request is required. Deleting your account permanently removes:
- your account and authentication record;
- your profile;
- your listings;
- your block records; and
- conversations and messages involving your account.
One exception, for safety and legal reasons: moderation records are handled as follows. Reports you filed about others are anonymized (disassociated from you). Reports filed about you are retained so we can maintain an accurate trust-and-safety and abuse-prevention record and meet legal obligations. These records are retained no longer than reasonably necessary for those purposes.
5. Your choices & rights
- Access & correction: view and edit your profile in the app at any time.
- Deletion: delete your account, profile, listings, block records, conversations, and messages in the app (see above).
- Location: turn the location permission on or off at any time in your device Settings.
- Other rights: depending on where you live (for example, California and other U.S. states), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, use the MoveDrt support form.
6. Security
All traffic between the app and our servers uses encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Authentication and data storage run on Google Cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.
7. Children
MoveDrt is intended for business use by people who are at least 18 years old. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will be reflected here. Your continued use of MoveDrt after an update means you accept the revised policy.
